Employees Settle with Master Food and Possible Problems for CAMBA Gardens (UPDATED)
Two news items related to our area:
- Master Food near the corner of Church and Nostrand Avenues reached a $300,000 settlement with employees for wage theft. The employer also signed a union contract as part of the agreement, giving workers paid vacation and sick leave for the first time and presumably compensating them for overtime. An excellent article on it from Crain's and, since that link probably won't work forever, an article from the Daily News.
- A Huffington Post article suggesting that budget talks in Congress could cause problems for CAMBA Gardens, a project we wrote about in July.
