New Supportive and Affordable Housing Announced for Our Area

A mix of governmental and private (for-profit and not-for-profit) funding has been allocated to develop a major new public housing venture in our area.
Located at 690 and 738 Albany Ave. and called CAMBA Gardens, these new buildings will provide 209 units of housing. A little less than three-quarters of those, according to this information page, will be reserved for “individuals and families with special needs” and the remainder slotted for “low-income families from the community.” This article news article lists some of the project's most important funders:
Financing for CAMBA Gardens was provided by a large flock of private, public and government entities including: Corporation for Supportive Housing, Deutsche Bank, TD Bank, New York state Homes and Community Renewal, the city's Department of Housing Preservation and Development, New York state Homeless Housing Assistance Corporation, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, City Council members Mathieu Eugene and Darlene Mealy and the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York Affordable Housing Program.
